Human Rights In Childbirth – birth meeting (no cost)
November 1, 2019 @ 6:00 am - 7:30 amFree
Guest Speaker, Lawyer and Doula, Clancy Allen!
Part of the Positive Birth Global and Newcastle Movement is to provide birth support meetings, regularly and at no charge.
This can be your chance to spend time on a topic you might otherwise have not.
We share in circle – learnings, lessons and wisdoms of birth, with warmth, curiosity and laughter.
Each meeting, attendees walk away feeling more confident more assured and more prepared for birth.
Natalie Meade, from Hunter Birth Education will be the facilitator. These meetings have no hierarchy however. Like with birth, we believe the woman is her own authority.
From our Guest Speaker, Clancy Allen:
“Your birth matters. It really does…
You, and your choices are important. The birth experience sets the tone for your baby’s nervous system, and their imprint for life. Birth also lays your foundation for moving into motherhood. It can be powerful, positive and peaceful for both of you, creating the deep roots of connection that will anchor your relationship.
Clancy is a Birthing From Within Mentor (Childbirth Educator currently in completion with Birthing From Within, 2019), Certified birth Doula (Celebration of Birth), Kinesiologist (Create Your Reality College, Brisbane) & Yoga teacher (Bliss Baby Yoga) specialising in Pre-natal yoga classes.
Clancy provides birthing services around the Newcastle, Hunter Valley & Central Coast areas of NSW. Clancy is a mum, with prior professional experience as a civil litigation lawyer (6 years). She is committed to helping parents find their power within the modern medical system. Before becoming a birth keeper, Clancy worked as a civil litigation lawyer for 6 years in personal injury specialising in compensation claims for plaintiff’s. Human rights in childbirth and bodily autonomy is where Clancy’s prior career intersects with her mission in the birth space. To encourage women to be aware of the birth culture we have, know that they have choice in relation to everything that happens in their birth, and to become their own best advocate so that birthing in sovereignty is a reality, not just an ideal.”
